Glow Stick Lanterns

It's been H-O-T! Which means everyone is grumpy & staying up late. We've been coming up with fun projects to do on these warm evenings.
How about making glow stick lanterns?
Easy peasy & so cool!

Take a glow stick, cut the top off and dump the contents into a jar (we used an empty baby food jar). We used just one glow stick ~ next time I'll use 2 or 3 for a bigger impact. The contents are non-toxic but be careful because it will stain your clothing. I spilled one on the counter and it looked like a crazy glowing crime scene. LOL.

Lets the little ones shake them up and now they have their very own glowing lanterns! Since they glow for hours, they also make awesome nightlights.

Have fun!

3D Hanging Doilies

These aren't your grandma's doilies! With just some food coloring, glue & string turn drab paper doilies into festive party decorations. A great alternate to paper lanterns or tissue pom-poms.
I'm excited to make these. So girly. So easy to make. So much fun.

My daughter can't get enough of paper dolls. We're always searching the web for vintage printable versions. I love that she gets to practice her cutting skills and seeing her create fabulous outfits (complete with an array of accessories) brings a lil tear to my eye!
Keeping with our beachy summer crafts, we were excited to find this Beneath the Waves mermaid set from Paper Thing Personas. Download the free printable HERE!
