Tis the season for cookie exchange parties! And this week I am attending two! Yeah for lots of yummy cookies. Boo for slaving in the kitchen all night!
If you love waffle cones, you'll love this fun twist on the tasty treat!
Peppermint Butter Waffle Cookies!
What you'll need:
Trader Joe's Butter Waffle Cookies
White chocolate candy melts
Candy canes
To get started ~ Melt the chocolate!
You can either throw them in the microwave or I opt to use a double boiler.
While the chocolate is melting, unwrap the candy canes & place them into zip lock bags. I used a meat tenderizer to crush the candies (great stress reliever). And because toddlers love to destroy things, my lovely assistant needed her own bag to crush.
Next grab a cookie & coat one side with the melted chocolate. You could also dip the whole cookie in the chocolate.
Place them on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
Sprinkle the cookies with the crushed candy canes.
I felt the cookies needed a bit more pizazz, so I drizzled (okay splattered) them with dark chocolate.
Set aside while the chocolate hardens or place in the fridge for 20 minutes to speed up the process.
The finished product!
Since these were going to a cookie party, I decided to wrap them individually & added a label so guests knew what they were.
Since it's all about the presentation, I always feel the need to kick it up a notch. I printed & assembled these gingerbread houses from The TomKat Studio via HGTV. They are the perfect size treat boxes & do I even need to mention how stinkin' adorable they are?
Happy Holidays!
