St. Patrick's Day Clover Hair Clip

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner & I want to make sure my daughter and her girlfriends avoid the celebratory pinches from classmates. 

With some green felt, ribbon and crystal embellishments I whipped up these fun clover hair clips!

100% leprechaun approved!

DIY Felt Stethoscope

 My lil gal loves all things Doc McStuffins. We've made a Big Book of Boo Boos, Lambie Tail Treats & Boo Boo Stickers. So to add to her doctors kit, I created a felt stethoscope. Now she can perform check-ups on all her toys!

 What you'll need:

Plastic headband

1 foot of ribbon (shorten if needed to insure ribbon can't be wrapped around child's neck)

2 - 2" x 5" Red felt for ears (extra for hearts)

2 - 3" Ivory felt circle

1" x 3" Tan felt rectangle

Brown permanent marker

Poly-fil

Hot glue gun

Needle and thread

Wrap the ends of the headbands with felt strips and hot glue. Finish by adding glue and pinching to seal off end of headband. The felt ends should be large enough to fit over the ears and not in the ear canal at all. If necessary, add more felt to thicken.

Using the hot glue gun, attach heart to small band-aid center. Using the brown marker, add dots for a finishing touch. Attach band-aid to one of stethoscope circles with hot glue.

Loop one ribbon end over headband and attach with hot glue. Using the other end of the ribbon, attach to the back felt circle.

Place stethoscope top (with band-aid) on top of the back felt circle and stitch where ribbon meets with a blanket stitch. Stuff with Poly-fil & close with blanket stitch.

Felt Princess Tiara

I had a request from a little princess. She wanted a tea party with her friends that included lots of tulle, glitter and of course tiaras!

I didn't want to buy the plastic store bought kind, so I made a felt version. They are super easy to make & in just a few minutes you can create your own.

What you'll need:
Glue gun
Felt squares
Headband
Scissors
Rhinestone crystals

Here we go...

First I made a template by freehand

Using the templates, cut out tiara pieces

Wrap your large felt piece around the headband. Run the glue along the center of the headband and press to hold the felt down. Next match up the two ends of the tiara and add glue to hold it in place. Glue down the rest of the tiara and cut off excess.

Glue down the smaller piece of your crown and add rhinestone crystals. You could leave them blank & let your guests decorate their own special tiara with rhinestones, sequins, ribbon, etc.

She couldn't wait to try on the first finished tiara!

I love how each guest will get her very own and original tiara!

No-Sew Felt Pot Stickers

Want to add some fun to your child's play kitchen? How about some felt pot stickers?! They are quick & easy to make plus no sewing is involved! I whipped up a batch in less than 20 minutes.

What you'll need:

• Glue gun
• Felt circles (mine were 4")
• Poly Fil 

Fold your circle in half. Add a small dab of glue and then pleat a small section. Repeat. 

Once you have about 1" remaining, add the poly fill and finish pleating until the entire pot sticker is glued shut.

Ta-da! A cute little pot sticker! Yummy!

Serve this with a brown circle for "soy sauce" & you are all set!

Felt Easter Cookies

Say hello to my little friends!

In my continued quest to make a fabulous non-sugary Easter basket, last year I came up with these little felt Easter “cookies”.

What you will need:

- Polyester Fiberfill

- Felt

- Embroidery Floss & Needle

- Fabric Glue

- Ric Rac Ribbon

- Black beads (for eyes & nose)

1. Layer two pieces of felt and cut out the bunny & egg
2. Glue the ric rac ribbon to 1 piece of the egg. Set aside to dry.
3. Sew on the beads to create the eyes and nose
4. Put the matching pieces together and using a blanket stitch, sew around the edges leaving an opening for stuffing
5. Stuff your cookies with fiberfill, then sew the opening closed

Don’t worry you still have plenty of time to make these for Easter. They are super easy to make, so you can whip up several in no time.

They’re sure to be a fun addition to our ever growing felt food collection.

Note to self...Never leave a curious toddler alone with a bag of fiberfill

From Bib to Wall Art - Preserving Memories

When our daughter was born, we were given a sweet little monkey pajama & bib set. I adored it so much, I bought it in every size. I was crushed when she finally outgrew the last piece.

But... I held onto the bib, hoping one day I could create something with it to remember those first wonderful months.

Then one day it hit me. I grabbed a blank canvas and painted my own rendition of the bib (adorned with a sweet felt flower embellishment).

I love how it turned out!

She now has a fun new piece of art in her room and I preserved a special memory close to my heart.
